It was a Friday night at Clarke Quay, but not business as usual. On Oct 21, a crowd of over 200 people had gathered around the Central Fountain, eagerly anticipating the big reveal and a chance to meet Female’s 50 Gorgeous People finalists in the flesh.
The contestants had been preened and fussed over by a team of makeup artists using M.A.C, and their hair done using Redken products by stylists from Icon by Shunji Matsuo Hair Salon.
Finally at 7pm, they were ready to make their grand appearance, all dressed in outfits from Gap and Banana Republic, decked out with jewellery from Thomas Sabo.

Host Jacqueline Chow of Fly Entertainment introduced the contestants to the hyped up crowd and they took to the catwalk for a fashion parade, with the ladies strutting their stuff in shoes from Nine West. A few finalists even received bouquets of flowers and banners from their ardent supporters. The night also marked the launch of the voting process: Supporters voted live on-the spot via laptops provided by Samsung. As the crowd mingled, there were other goodies in store: Guests could pose for pictures with their favourite contestants at Canon’s shoot-and-print booth, while the Kiehl’s boys went around taking Polaroid shots |
There were also look book giveaways from Freshkon, and an array of products on display from Giorgio Armani Fragrances and Redken.
All the while, DJ Ginette Chittick worked the crowd with her mix of groovy beats. After the night’s votes were tallied, 23 lucky voters walked away with fabulous prizes from the sponsors, including products and vouchers from Freshkon, Gap, Kiehl’s and Redken. But this was just the beginning. Voting continued online at www.Female50Gp.com until Nov 30.
On Dec 1, the finalists met up again for a night of celebration and competition at the grand finals. Held at Chijmes Hall, the event culminated in the crowning of the winners, determined through a combination of votes and a judging panel.
