Her World Celebrates Beauty with Brand Champs

On March 8, the Her World team held a beauty brunch, welcoming its friends and partners for an intimate gathering in the swanky loft-style hotel, M Social in Robertson Quay. The brunch also marked the magazine’s 18th Beauty Awards, the original and most extensive one in Singapore.

This year’s Her World Beauty Awards honoured a total of over 250 winners, all tried, tested and carefully selected by a panel of esteemed judges comprising of Her World’s editorial team, doctors, makeup artists and respected beauty bloggers.     

Some of the distinguished guests include the brand guardians from Chanel Beauty, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Amore Pacific, and Parfums Christian Dior.

As the event coincided with International Women’s Day, Group Editor, Dhylan Boey, said in his opening speech that “the Her World brand has always been about women. Her World aspires the achiever women to work, play and live better and to be the best version of herself.”

And continuing on about what the brand stands for – Empowering, Inspiring and Useful, for women in Singapore, Publisher Eileen Chia added that it is both an honour and a huge responsibility to be the voice of women in Singapore, and that’s why the title is in turn inspired by its readers. And for its readers it offers so much more, said Chia, “beyond fashion and beauty, it covers current mindsets such as holistic wellness, mindfulness, narrating stories of real, aspirational women sharing their routines, challenges and triumphs.”

With content that’s backed by engagement data and informed by findings from enabling conversations through polls and social interactions, Chia shared that “where our audiences are, is where our growth is, and that’s why Her World is expanding its video and social storytelling and investing in digital exclusive issues.” All this to bring content that readers want to the platforms they frequent most.

Following that, Associate Beauty Editor, Melissa Chew then introduced three of Her World’s new initiatives – Beauty Undercover, a video series which show the behind-the-scene action at a cover shoot revealing beauty secrets and tricks of celebrity cover models; Season 2 of Beauty En Suite, which raids the beauty closets of top influencers to suss out the products that help them put their best face forward; and Beauty TV, where beauty and mobile entertainment come together as Her World’s beauty team introduces celebrities and personalities to the hottest new products and guides them to try them out.

“The best content starts with collaboration,” continued Chia, as she encouraged brand partners to create new, exciting conversations together, to excite readers and viewers.  

At the same time, the event coincided with the appointment of Her World’s new Editor, Ng Yi Lian, who was warmly welcomed as she is no stranger to the industry, a known KOL in social media and had worked in beauty and fashion editorial with various SPH publications in the past.

All in all, it was truly it was a day that celebrated women, and also something that women hold close to their hearts – all things beauty.
