Winners of Female's 50 Gorgeous People 2011 revealed
Singapore, 30 November, 2011 – SPH Magazines’ Female will be crowning the winners of its 50 Gorgeous People 2011 competition in a final showdown at Chijmes Hall on Dec 1 from 8pm.
The latest crop of contestants have proven to be the most interesting and varied since the competition started 15 years ago. This year’s line-up includes an ex-Wall Street trader, an underground supper club founder, an entrepreneur, as well as many other colourful personalities.
“Female’s 50 Gorgeous People event has moved beyond being just a good-looks competition to focus more on personality and character. This year’s contestants have been real, engaging and interesting,” says Jeanette Ejlersen, Creative Editor of Female.
This signature annual event for Female searches for men and women with the “G” factor – or Gorgeous factor – as well as a combination of personality and poise which gives them a kind of “star” quality. The preliminary street searches held at Tanjong Beach Club and Clarke Quay in July earlier this year, combined with call for entries via the event’s official website, drew over 400 entries.
Online voting commenced about a month ago at its preview event, and has since attracted more than 4,000 votes to date. The results of these votes will be tallied to reveal the top 10 finalists. The Most Gorgeous Male and Most Gorgeous Female will then be selected by a panel of judges, which includes Female’s Creative Editor Jeanette Ejlersen and representatives from the sponsors.
The winners stand to win exciting prizes from fashion vouchers to beauty products, including one year’s supply of FreshKon® Mosaic lenses, a $1,250 gift card from Banana Republic, $1,250 gift card from Gap, $1,500 worth of products from M.A.C, a Thomas Sabo watch worth $1,798, Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Treats worth $389 and Kiehl’s Complete Pampering Treats worth $481.
This final event will be hosted by popular celebrity George Young. There will also be exciting performances by up-and-coming local band Quick Quick Danger.
