Singapore, 3 May 2012 – The Peak, a publication of SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines), is proud to present its highly anticipated G Restaurant Awards 2012 for The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel. In its third year, the Awards recognise top-notch restaurants that deliver superb dining experiences. This year, a total of 29 awards will be given out at the Awards Party on 9 May 2012 at Chijmes Hall from 6.30pm.
An external panel consisting of ambassadors and head honchos wined and dined incognito. The restaurants were shortlisted by veteran food critics such as The Straits Times’ Wong Ah Yoke and Tan Hsueh Yun, The Business Times’ Jaime Ee and Lianhe Zaobao’s Dr Ng King Kang.
Two-year-old Shinji by Kanesaka emerged as Restaurant of the Year, distinguished by its fierce dedication to only the best in service and ingredients. Other key awards this year include the Best Celebrity Restaurant Award (Western) won by L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, as well as the Best New Restaurant Awards received by Il Cielo (Western) and Tong Le Private Dining (Asian).
The Awards Party will also present awards for the Top 100 Wines – a carefully curated list of winning wines that truly raise the bar for taste, quality and value. The Wine of the Year 2012 goes to Argiano Brunello Di Montalcino (2004) from Italy.
The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel is a biannual magazine that follows the success of The Peak Selections: Timepieces and The Peak Selections: Domain. The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel is a stylish and authoritative guide for high net worth individuals with discerning palates.
