Media Release: “BAZAAR Art Prize” exhibition – Fashion Meets Art

BAZAAR Art Prize returns for its second installation with the theme “Fashion Meets Art” to celebrate the symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines. Inspired by BAZAAR’s long history in collaborating with artists such as Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol, BAZAAR Art Prize was launched as a competitive platform for aspiring and emerging artists in Singapore to showcase their talents and jumpstart their artistic career. This year, over 120 entries were submitted by artists from all walks of life, in the following four categories: 2D Works on Canvas, 2D Works on Paper, Sculpture and Photography.

 

The top 12 finalists from the four categories were shortlisted after an intense deliberation by the judging panel which included Kenneth Goh, Editor-In-Chief, Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore; June Yap, Curator and Art Historian; Hazel Lim, Fine Arts Programme Leader, LASALLE College of the Arts; Mo Loke, General Manager (Architecture & Design) Wheelock Properties; and Boo Sze Yang, Artist. The finalists’ artworks and diverse inspirations were showcased in a spread in the January 2017 issue of BAZAAR Art.

 

In collaboration with Scotts Square, the works of the top 12 finalists will also be displayed at the “BAZAAR Art Prize” exhibition at Scotts Square, Level 1 Atrium, from 16 February to 12 March, 2017. The overall winner, as well as the category winners, will be announced at the opening party of the “BAZAAR Art Prize” exhibition at Scotts Square on 16 February, 2017 and on Harper’s BAZAAR’s website. The overall winner will receive $10,000 from Scotts Square, and the winners of the remaining categories will each receive a holiday package from Club Med.
