Media Release: And CLEO’s Most Eligible Bachelor 2017 is…

May 13, 2017

CLEO Singapore, the best-selling local magazine for young women, crowned Amos Ngeow the winner of CLEO Most Eligible Bachelors 2017 last night.

Ngeow said: “ I’m just really shocked as I honestly did not expect to win! Nevertheless, I’m really excited to win the award and I’m very thankful for everyone’s support and presence during CLEO Bachelors.”  The 25-year-old suit venture co-founder walked away with more than $3,000 worth of products and prizes.

Claire Starkey, CLEO Editor-in-Chief, said: “It sounds a little cheesy, but truly all 30 of these boys are winners. They’re smart, sweet and incredibly talented and I look forward to name-checking a lot of them as prestigious alumni in the years to come. But there had to be one winner – and Amos exudes a very special charm that sets him apart.”

Now in its 22nd year, the signature annual event for CLEO remains one of the most highly anticipated events for 20-something women. The proof is in the shrieks that could be heard within a 5km radius of Zouk last night, as the party culminated in a strip tease that had been months in the making.

CLEO also crowned two subsidiary award winners: the Freshest Face and Talk of the Town.

Freshest Face winner Leon Markcus, 21, said: “ I’m excited and humbled by this award. Grooming has been an important aspect for me all thanks to my mom – she has emphasised the importance of taking care of my skin since young!”

Kishan J., 23, winner of the Talk of the Town award, said: “As someone who speaks for a living and talks all the time, I am still absolutely surprised by this award. It feels like I clinched an award for the comedians and funny people like me! A big thank you to CLEO for the award and all my supporters and fans who came to support me.”

The winner and subsidiary award winners of CLEO Most Eligible Bachelors 2017 were decided by the CLEO team, who also took into account the results of a readers’ vote on www.CLEO.com.sg and the CLEO Bachelors’ social media engagement.
