SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines) garnered top awards for its leading titles at the MPAS Awards 2018 held yesterday evening (8 November) at One Farrer Hotel Grand Ballroom. The annual awards, organised by the Media Publishers Association Singapore (MPAS), recognises the achievements, best practices and top talents of Singapore’s Magazine Publishing industry.
The leading publisher in Singapore and the region won a total of six awards, including the top Gold awards for three of the top major awards of the night, namely Women’s Media of the Year, Fashion Media of the Year and Luxury Media of the Year, making it one of the biggest winners of the night.
Her World, Singapore’s most-read women’s magazine and the voice of the modern Singapore woman, was named Women’s Media of the Year (Gold). Singapore’s No. 1 magazine Her World (www.HerWorld.com), prides itself on being the voice of the modern, forward-thinking Singapore woman. For over five decades, it has engaged, inspired and empowered readers, helping them to live, play, love and work better and smarter.
Nuyou Singapore also bagged the Bronze award for Front Cover Of The Year (Consumer) for its December 2017 double cover (featuring actress Jeanette Aw shot in Paris) and its September 2018 cover (featuring the country’s first fashion augmented reality avatar Moomoko with actress Rebecca Lim). Launched in 1976, Nuyou remains the much-loved Chinese fashion, beauty and lifestyle media in Singapore. Authoritative but affable, it is also the one-stop go-to guidebook for the modern bilingual woman.
Female, Singapore’s leading fashion and beauty magazine, clinched the Silver award in both the Fashion Media of the Year and Videography of the Year categories. Female, a true-blue homegrown Singaporean women’s fashion magazine, sets itself apart from its competitors by covering fashion, beauty, luxury, design and pop culture in a highly original, authentic manner that is relatable to its readers. As one of its key tenets, it champions local talents, and engages forward-thinking women and the millennial generation with sharp insights, creative visuals and inventive videos.
Also in the Fashion Media of the Year category, Harper’s Bazaar attained the Gold award. Bold, opulent and provocative, Harper’s Bazaar Singapore is the style bible for the affluent and discerning woman. It takes on what’s new and what’s next with style, wit and insight. Known internationally for its blend of intelligent commentary and dynamic photography, Harper’s Bazaar is the first and last word in fashion.
Rounding up the haul, The Peak won Gold for Luxury Media of the Year. The Peak is well regarded for being a trusted authority on the finer things in life and its signature reporting on the luxury lifestyles and success stories of the most influential, powerful and affluent business leaders in Singapore. Online, The Peak commands similar engagement, carrying in-depth reviews on exquisitely-crafted timepieces, fashion trend reports, new gourmet and travel experiences and the latest in design.
